TEXTBOOK: Zill and Cullen, Differential Equations with Boundary Value Problems, Seventh Edition

Please consult the department syllabus to see a rough schedule of the sections we plan to cover.  This is a master list of homework problems.  I expect you to keep up with the homework.  This requires daily effort.

NOTE:  OUR TEST SCHEDULE IS DIFFERENT FROM THAT ON THE DEPT SYLLABUS!

CALCULATOR:  You will need a calculator for some homework.  Use whatever you have. You will have to do test/quiz questions BY HAND.

ATTENDANCE POLICY:  Class attendance is required for this course.

STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES:  Students with disabilities who believe that they may need accommodations in this class are encouraged to contact the counselor working with disabilities at (678) 915 7226 as soon as possible to better insure that such accommodations are implemented in a timely fashion.

GRADING:  There will be quizzes, three in-class tests, and a comprehensive final exam. Quizzes may or may not be announced ahead of time.

Academic Dishonesty:  There is a zero tolerance policy on cheating in this course.  This policy includes copying solutions from anybody or anything, obtaining test questions illegally, or calculator usage when such usage is not allowed.

If you cheat on a test or quiz, I will have you removed from the class and you will fail.  NO EXCEPTIONS.

TESTS: The tests are scheduled for Monday, September 28, Monday, October 19, and Wednesday, November 18.  Each test is worth 100 points.

QUIZZES:  You will see at least 12 quizzes (that is, roughly one a week).  Each will count 10 points. **Quizzes are based on the homework.

**Only the best 10 quiz grades go towards your course grade.

FINAL EXAM:  The final exam will be comprehensive. It is worth 200 points.

COURSE GRADE:  Your grade in the course will be based on 600 points distributed as follows:

Three tests

300 points

Quizzes

100 points

Final exam

200 points

To avoid disappointment, count on being graded according to the usual scale, that is, 540-600=A, 480-539=B, 420-479=C, 360-419=D, below 360=F.

WITHDRAW DATE:  Tuesday, October 13 is the last day to withdraw with a grade of "W".
