Prerequisite: Placement by the Mathematics Assessment Test
A functional approach to algebra which incorporates appropriate
technology. Topics include
symbolic manipulation, solving equations and inequalities; linear, quadratic,
polynomial, exponential, and
logarithmic functions, graphs, applications.
The TI-89 calculator is required for this course.
A grade of "C" or better is required for course credit.
The current textbook is Algebra & Trigonometry, eighth edition by Michael Sullivan.
The syllabus for the evening sections is similar to the day syllabus and differs from the day syllabus only in timing.
