Text: Differential Equations with Boundary-Value Problems, 5th ed., by Zill & Cullen
Course Objectives:
Topics in this course include: Solving ordinary differential equations of first and higher order. Solving systems of linear differential equations, including finding solutions using the Laplace transform. Fourier series solutions to differential equations. Mechanical and electrical engineering applications are included.Homework: Follow this link
Grading: Three one-hour exams, worth 100 points each. Make-up exams will only be given at the discretion of the instructor, and with a valid excuse for the absence. You must contact the instructor by phone or email no later than the day of the exam if you need to arrange a make-up exam. One Final Exam, worth 200 points. The Final will be cumulative. Quizzes and take-home assignments will be worth a total of 150 points. No late take-home work will be accepted, and no make-up quizzes will be given, but the lowest scores for both of these will be dropped. Your grade for the course will be calculated from the percentage of your total points: 90% for A, 80% for B, 70% for C, 60% for D.
The last day to withdraw from the course with a W is Tuesday, February 27.
