Welcome

I was originally a northerner, born and raised in Michigan, but I have been living south of the Mason-Dixon line for many years and finally moved to Atlanta in 1996.

Most of my adult life, since leaving the student life in the University, I have been working in the business world, but have maintained a foot, or maybe two feet, in Academia. Since I left college, I have taught at The University of Michigan, Florida State University, Nova Southeastern University and the University of Phoenix. Recently I decided to go back to teaching by becoming a member of the Kennesaw State University faculty.

As background, I received my BS in Physics from Michigan State University and my MS and PhD from The University of Michigan in Physics – Computer & Communications Sciences. My field of research for my degrees and my Post-Doctoral Fellowships was Theoretical Nuclear Physics. Since I graduated both from The University of Michigan and Michigan State University, every year when Michigan plays Michigan State, I’m always on the side of the winner … or maybe it’s the loser .. I forgot. Anyway, since then I’ve worked for a number of companies inventing new products, developing the software portion of a number of products, been in business for my self, both developing and selling products and as an independent consultant. As mentioned earlier, during all of this time I’ve also been teaching on and off at the University level.

I find the technical fields, Physics, Mathematics, Computers, an intellectual challenge. It's like working on a series of puzzles that tax your intellect. Teaching has always been my love. Even when working in large corporations, I’ve spent a good part of my time working with, teaching and mentoring my subordinates, my colleagues and even my bosses. Combining my love of teaching with the intellectual challenge of the technical fields is combining the best of both worlds.
