Abstract

In order to understand a space, it is often helpful to think of it as built out of simpler pieces.  Some interesting three and four-dimensional spaces can be well understood in terms of pieces of dimension two or less.  I will describe some of these spaces and also pass around the room two different four-dimensional spaces.  Yes, you will really be able to hold these spaces in your hands.
