On 4 October 2004, the SPSU Faculty Senate met in J-152 at noon, Moderator of the Faculty Becky Rutherfoord presiding.

1. Approval of Minutes

 

1.1 The minutes to the 21 September 2004 meeting were approved.

 

 

 

2.  Discussion of Institutional Extra Compensation Policy P&P (no number), September 2002

 

2.1 The Senate voted to send the P&P back to Dean Ramsey for an explanation of the compensation rates.

                                                                       

 


3.  Discussion of Institutional Review Board P&P (no number), May 2003

 

3.1 The Senate voted to send the P&P back to Dean Ramsay.  Concerns were time lines and the absence of an application form that was supposed to be in an appendix.

 

 

4.  Assignment of Review for P&P 803.0701 Student Evaluation of Faculty

 

4.1 Moderator Rutherfoord assigned the review of P&P 803.0701 to Senate sub-committee 2.

 

 

5. Old Business

 

5.1 Moderator Rutherfoord agreed to chair Senate sub-committee 1.  She will not be a voting member.

 

 

6. New Business

 

6.1 The Senate passed a resolution to request that the VPAA update and maintain the Academic affairs website.  The faculty also needs to have a clear path to the final exam schedule

 

 

7. Announcements

 

7.1 Senator Rotnem reminded the Senate about the Interface Lecture Series on the Human Genome Project.  Lecture dates are October 12, 13, and 28.

 

7.2 Dean Gabrielli encouraged faculty to attend the open sessions for the Director of advancement interviews on the next two Mondays.

 

The meeting adjourned at 12:47.
