I.       The General Faculty minutes of July 24, 2003 were approved.

 

 

II.          Recommendations contained in the following minutes were approved:

          a.          Faculty Senate, August 19, 2003

          b.          Faculty Senate, September 2, 2003

          c.          Student Status Committee, September 9, 2003

          d.          Faculty Senate, September 16, 2003

          e.          Undergraduate Curriculum Committee, September 23, 2003

 

 

III.     Dr. Hornbeck provided the following reminders and updates:

          a.          Deadline for equipment proposals;

          b.          Deadline for dean and department chair job descriptions;

          c.          The budgeting process in general;

          d.          Enforcement of block schedules;

          e.          Adjunct compensation;

          f.          Academic Leadership Committee activities;

          g.          Rumor dispelling.

 

 

IV.          President Rossbacher provided the following updates and comments:

          a.          Budget information will be forthcoming as soon as it is available;

          b.          A review of meetings, telephone, email, and main website use as

                    communication and information dissemination tools;

          c.          The inception of an internal message board and campus community

                    update webpage;

          d.          Responsiveness to telephone calls and emails, and questions, responses

                    and comments addressed thereto;

          e.          The new SPSU signs on I-75, both north- and southbound;

          f.          Resource utilization followup;

          g.          The AY 2005 budgeting process;

          h.          The 2003 Campaign.

 

 

V.       The following announcements were made:

          a.          The Library introduced its newest team member;

          b.          Graduate Open House has tentatively been set for October 27, 2003;

          c.          The Systems Engineering degree program's Web site is now up and running.

 

 

VI.      A motion was made and carried to adjourn.
